November 2017 News & Events

Hello, Everyone!

Wow, here we are in the midst of autumn and the beginning of November!  At this point in the year, I often start looking ahead to the holidays and the end of the year and I am happy to say that The Birth Circle has a lot of community events on the horizon!  Please see below for our November happenings!

This is also the time of year that we ask you for your support.  To provide the programs and events that we do for our community, we need your help.  Your volunteer hours, donations of goods and services and of course your financial contributions provide us with the means to follow our mission which is to educate, support and empower women and families as they journey through pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum period, and early childhood. By making families aware of the resources available to them, we are hoping to build community.  Below you will find information on how to support us by contributing to our Annual Appeal.  We are incredibly thankful for all that you do for The Birth Circle!

We have a bounty of fun to share with you these next few months and we hope to see you soon!

Warmly,
Claudia Bashaw

September 2017 Monthly Meeting and Events

CREATING ART AS THERAPY FOR PREGNANCY AND INFANT LOSS
Wednesday September 27th
7-8:30pm
Athens Public Library
In preparation for October, which is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, we are putting on a unique monthly meeting.  If you have ever experienced the loss of a child, whether it be during pregnancy or after your child was born, or if you are a grandparent or friend of someone who has experienced a loss of this kind, you are welcome to join us for a special evening.  We will diverge from our regular meeting format to provide a supportive space for all to create artwork.  Your experience of loss may be recent or have happened a while ago, either way you are welcome.  There’s no pressure to have any ideas ahead of time or have any experience creating artwork, and you do not have to share your art with others.  This evening is about exploring the healing qualities that creating art can provide us as we grieve.  Lots of different supplies will be provided, so plan to join us for a truly special evening.
