October Monthly Meeting & News

Costume Parade
Howdy Everyone,

The days have grown shorter and we’re all gearing up for tricks and treats this week. One lovely treat coming your way is The Birth Circle’s monthly meeting on Wednesday! We have a wonderfully informative meeting scheduled and we hope you join us. Many of us are curious about fostering and adoption opportunities in our area, and this month we have one of our local experts from Athens County Children Services coming to share information and answer your questions. If you’ve been through either process, we would love for you to come and share your experiences as well! Please check out the details below and we look forward to seeing you there!

Also below, you will find information on how to participate in our Impact Survey, how to donate to The Birth Circle, and how to volunteer for JIVE!  Contact us with any questions.  Thanks for your support!

Sunday, October 16th at 3:00pm

701 East State St. Athens, OH

The Birth Circle will hold a ceremony at the Athens Community Center’s “Ribbon Tree,” planted near the playground in April of this year as a memorial to honor and celebrate the short lives of babies lost through miscarriage, stillbirth or in infancy. This year’s ceremony will include readings and a time of sharing, as well as time to tie a ribbon of your choice on the tree. The event is open to the public, and children are welcome to attend. If parents are unable to attend the ceremony but would like their child’s name or due date spoken, or a particular poem or prayer read, they can contact Claudia or Julia at athensbirthcircle@gmail.com or 740-652-6262.
