November & December News Updates 2015

Autumnal Wreath
Good Morning Everyone,
We hope that you will join us tomorrow for a special monthly meeting led by volunteer Linda Solt from the American Red Cross. The next Play Group gathers next week, as does the Loss Support Group.  Feel free to email with any questions about any of these gatherings.
We are in need of volunteers and sponsors for our AWESOME annual New Year’s Eve family-centered event, JIVE!  If you, your place of work, or someone you know would be interested in lending time or a financial contribution to help make this another successful and fun fundraiser, please contact Margaret, Emily or I (information below).  Thank you for all of your help and support throughout the year!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and we hope to see you all at one of our upcoming events!

Tuesday, November 24th
7:00 to 8:30pm
At the Athens Library
Please note that this meeting is on a different day of the week.
Have you ever wondered what you can do in advance to prepare for the next power outage or ice storm?  As we move into the season of inclement weather, join us for an informative discussion led by Linda Solt of the American Red Cross of Southeastern Ohio.  She will share her presentation on preparing an emergency/disaster kit for each person in your family, even your pets. There will also be time for questions and discussion about all ARC-related topics including childproofing your home, choking, and hands-only CPR. It will be an evening chock full of good information so bring your pens and notebooks!
Each year Jive! is a super-fun, fantastic event thanks to all of our volunteers, and you could be one of them! Believe it or not this family-friendly New Year’s Eve event is right around the corner!  If you are interested in helping organize, we would love to have your help on any of these committees:  Food, Decorations, Kid’s Activities, Posters and Ticket Sales. Please contact Emily Schmaltz,, or Margaret Hoff,, for more information.

Thursday, December 3rd
Athens Library, Children’s Section
Even though the temperatures are dropping and making us feel cozier, we all still need time to play and socialize. Join us for two hours of fun and conversation every first Thursday of the month. We hope to see you there!
