As we continue to work toward addressing the needs of families in our community, we would like to invite you to a special event at the Athens Library on Saturday, September 7th 2-3: 30 pm: What Can the Birth Circle do for You? Our board members will be on hand to talk about the programs we currently offer, and we would love to hear from you about other needs that ought to be addressed, and how our current formats/times could be tweaked to better meet the needs of our community.  Refreshments will be served. If you like to plan ahead, or would like to contribute but can’t make the meeting, please consider if you have any insight to provide in response to any of the following questions, and/or take our online multiple-choice survey.

What has been valuable or supportive to you at a Birth Circle program?

How could we improve the program you attended?

What programs do you see a need for?

What prevented you from being able to attend a program you were interested in?

Do you see/hear Birth Circle programs advertised around town regularly? Where? Where should we be getting the word out?

When would be a good time/place for a playgroup to meet?

When would be a good time/place for a postpartum support group to meet?

Are you or do you know a Dad who would be interested in more Dad centered programming?

How could we facilitate more supportive environments online for those who are finding a lot of their information and support there these days?

Please send any and all comments to athensbirthcircle@gmail.com and/or fill out our survey at:

Thank you!

Monthly Meeting

Athens Public Library, 30 Home St. Athens

Supporting those who have experienced pregnancy and/or infant loss Perinatal loss is all too common, and most of us (or perhaps all of us, whether we know it or not) know someone or are someone who has been affected.  Join our Loss Support Group members to talk about how to be supportive of people who are grieving such a loss (and what NOT to say!). Keep an eye on our facebook page this month too as we prepare for this meeting by asking for input on what things you heard during this time of grieving that was helpful, and not so helpful.
